A one-day workshop on Using R with Professor John Braun from the University of British Columbia (Okanagan), is the latest in the increasingly popular and high-quality series of workshops offered by the University of Calgary Biostatistics Centre (UCBC), a centre within the OIPH.

 

R is becoming the leading software package for statistical analysis and presentation, and is widely used in academia and industry. The workshop will present an introduction to using R in the morning, and move onto more advanced topics such as developing packages and Shiny apps in R in the afternoon.

 

 

Prerequisites

Introductory course in statistics for the morning sessions

Intermediate level of regression course for the afternoon sessions

09:00 – 10:30 Introduction to R (part I)

10:30 – 10:45 Tea/Coffee nutrition break

10:45 – 12:00 Introduction to R (part II)

12:00 – 1:15 Lunch break

1:15 – 2:30 Developing R packages

2:30 – 2:45 Tea/Coffee nutrition break

2:45 – 4:00 Developing R Shiny apps
