Description:

This workshop will bring together junior and senior researchers from Mexico, Canada, and the US (as well as mathematicians from other countries), and is organized around the interests of John Milnor. The primary goals of this workshop are to strengthen the academic ties between the three nations, to encourage mathematical collaborations between the participants of this workshop, and to foster the interactions of graduate students and young postdocs with senior mathematicians from both countries.

Organizers:

The organizers are from institutions in the US, Canada, and in Mexico: Araceli Bonifant (University of Rhode Island), Carlos Cabrera (IMATE-UNAM, Cuernavaca), Jose Seade (IMATE-UNAM, Mexico City), Scott Sutherland (Stony Brook), and Michael Yampolsky (University of Toronto). The Mexican organizers of this event are currently in the process of writing proposals to support the participation of young researchers from Mexico and Europe.
