claVision: Canadian Winner of Microsoft Imagine Cup Innovation Competition

Description:

claVision team: Mohammad Akbari, Hossein Naseri and Howard Cheng

Abstract: The claVision team from the University of Lethbridge entered the Microsoft Imagine Cup Innovation Competition in 2014 and was chosen as the Canadian winner. In addition, the team was chosen to represent Canada as one of the top 10 world finalists in the Imagine Cup World Finals in Seattle. The claVision software is a visual automatic piano music transcription tool. It uses an ordinary webcam along with computer vision techniques to detect what keys are played during a piano performance and produces the corresponding sheet music in real time, without "listening" to audio. It is more accurate than solutions currently in the marketplace. Come and learn more about the software and our experiences in this competition.
