PIMS First Year Interest Groups - Member Application

This form is for first and second year graduate students (Phd/MSc) wishing to participate in the PIMS First Year Interest Group (FYIG) program.

Every year, PIMS PDFs apply to lead FYIGs centred on accessible subjects, suitable for beginning graduate students. Each PDF leads a small reading group (up to 4 students) of 1st and 2nd year MSc/PhD graduate students through books/papers that inspired them, and which are accessible to early graduate students. The groups meet virtually, for an hour, once every two weeks through the end of the 2025-26 academic year.

If you are interested in participating as a student, please fill out this form by October 10th, 2025. Please note, the projects listed have been proposed but have not yet been finalized. Project selection depends on various criteria, including enrolment. Applicants will be notified of the final results at the enrolment deadline.
