Speaker Bio:
Jianqing Fan is Professor of Statistics and Machine Learning at Princeton University, where he also holds the Frederick L. Moore Professorship.His research spans statistics, machine learning, financial econometrics, and data science, with applications in finance, economics, genomics, and health. A pioneer in high-dimensional statistics and statistical machine learning, he has developed foundational methods for analyzing complex, high-dimensional data. His many honours include the COPSS Presidents' Award, the Guy Medal in Silver, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. At Princeton, he directs both the Statistics Laboratory and the Financial Econometrics Laboratory.
