Speaker Bio:
Franz Luef is Professor of Mathematics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where his research focuses on quantum harmonic analysis, time-frequency analysis, noncommutative geometry, and pseudodifferential operators. His work bridges pure and applied mathematics, advancing the theoretical foundations of quantum mathematics while contributing to applications in machine learning and signal processing. He serves as an associate editor for several leading mathematics journals, including the Journal of Fourier Analysis and Applications and the Annals of Functional Analysis, and has held research fellowships at the University of California, Berkeley and the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
