UBC DG-MP-PDE Seminar: Tin Yau Tsang

Schoen and Yau proved the positive mass theorem on asymptotically flat manifolds with non-negative scalar curvature. Since then, several quasilocal masses have been proposed to describe the energy of compact domains. On the other hand, Gromov asked what the restriction on mean curvature on the boundary of a compact domain is given a scalar curvature lower bound. In this talk, we will discuss recent progress and relations among these topics.
