The Girls in Data Science Summer Camp at UBC aims to expose participants to a variety of topics in data science and statistics.

Details

This camp is offered for girls and other gender minorities in grades 8-12. Please complete the registration form and pay the $20 registration fee to confirm your spot in the camp.

SCHEDULE

DAYTOPICS
Day 1Introduction to data science, basics of Jupyter and R, data wrangling and data visualization
Day 2Measures of central tendency and spread, statistical inference and sampling, observational studies vs. experiments
Day 3Machine learning fundamentals, answering predictive questions (regression, classification)

 

Lunch will be provided each day for the participants.

Limited spots are available and please only register if you are committed to attending all 3 days of the event. More detailed information will be provided after registration.
