International Women in Mathematics Day: Single Slide Showcase

Come celebrate the contributions of women in mathematics, learn some cool mathematics, and connect with other members of the Math department!
SFU’s Department of Mathematics EDI Advisory Group kindly invites you to join in festivities on May 12th, celebrating Women in Math Day. Come and listen to a series of short, single-slide presentations that showcase the careers and achievements of women and non-binary individuals in mathematics. Talks will be given by faculty, post-docs and students of all levels. You can expect short research talks as well as historical biographies and even some personal stories.
Enjoy some coffee, tea and cupcakes, listen to inspiring talks highlighting the research and achievements of women/non-binary mathematicians, and meet others in the Math department! Everyone is welcome to attend.
Additional Information
Students are especially encouraged to present, and will be compensated with a gift card. If you are interested in presenting, please let Nathan (nilten@sfu.ca) know.
