PIMS Symposium on the Geometry and Topology of Manifolds

Symposium Venue:

Main  Room: ESB 1012 Earth Sciences Building  (ESB); 2207 Main Mall, Vancouver. 

Afternoon Concurrent sessions will be held in the Aquatic Ecosystems Research Building- Room 120; ESB room 2012; and Earth and Ocean Sciences Main Building, Room 135.

Accommodation Options: 

We have reserved sevaral designated accommodation options for invited participants and self funded particpants. These options are  close to the Symposium venue and offer single or double occupancy. While the Listel is off campus it offers great value for PIMS guests. All rates are in Canadian dollars. Please review the options below and reserve and pay at your own leisure or before the preferred deadline indicated (Plenery speakers should have already received accommodation arrangements.)

On campus:

•Walter H Gage  Singles, Studio, 1BR and West Coast Suites:  

 Features include telephone, flat panel TV, fully equipped kitchen (complementary coffee service is available for the studiios, 1BR and West Coast Suites). Internet is via a LAN/ Ethernet and a cable is required or can be purchased from the front desk.  A complimentary continental breakfast is served daily at the Pacific Spirit Cafeteria. Nightly rate $60- 199CAD if booked before May 29th (market rates apply thereafter).  Please book and pay here. 

•St. John’s College:

Rooms are furnished with a double bed, private washroom with shower, telephone, television, coffee maker, bar fridge and data port (an Ethernet cable is required). This option is now at capacity.

Off Campus:

•The Listel Hotel:

Located Downtown on Robson Street,  Museum One King features:  Single or double occupancy; Complementary breakfast at the Forage Restaurant; telephone and voice mail; Wifi internet access (included with our Facilities Fee); Coffee makers; Lobby Computer kiosk with printer, Internet access and Microsoft Office applications; Pay-per-view television; Morning newspaper (available upon request), access to the in-house gym or the Steve Nash Fitness Centre; and  a daily wine reception from 5-6pm. Please bear in mind commute times when arriving to UBC campus ($2.50CAD for transit and 20-30 minute commute time).
