David Blackwell preferred to write short, direct papers dissecting problems cleanly and showing the rest of us why things have to be the way they are. I plan to talk about David's life, describe a few of the things he is famous for (Markov Chains, Renewal Theory, the Rao-Blackwell theorem, information theory, game theory and measure theory at least) and maybe prove one or two little things to illustrate his style -- in so far as I can.
