PIMS/AMI Seminar: Recent results on aggregation equations in biology

I will survey some recent results on several types of aggregation equations. These are continuum models used to describe the swarming phenomenon in biology. I will focus on mathematical issues related to the basic understanding of these equations. The biological implications of some of the results will be mentioned as well. The talk will be self-contained and no prior knowledge on this subject is assumed.
