- Date: 10/30/2012
- Time: 15:30
Lecturer(s):
K. R. Rajagopal, Texas A & M University
Location:
University of Alberta
Topic:
On the mechanics and mathematics of bodies described by implicit constitutive equations
Description:
After discussing the need for implicit constitutive relations to describethe response of both non-linear fluids and solids, I will discussapplications wherein they can be gainfully exploited. It will be shownthat such implicit relations can explain phenomena that have hithertodefied adequate explanation. Moreover, such implicit constitutiverelations possess characteristics which are desirable both from thepoint of view of qualitative and numerical analysis.
