We are pleased to announce that Prof. Melania Alvarez, Education Coordinator at PIMS, has been awarded the prestigious IEEE EAB Meritorious Achievement Award in Pre-University Education in recognition of her outstanding contributions to teaching, mentorship, and leadership in mathematics education. This distinction acknowledges Prof. Alvarez’s sustained commitment to advancing excellence in mathematics and impactful educational initiatives.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Prof. Alvarez on this well-deserved recognition and commend her ongoing contributions to the advancement of mathematics education across Canada and beyond.
