UBC Math Biology Seminar: Ed Munro (Cancelled)

  • Date: 11/08/2017
  • Time: 14:00
Lecturer(s):
Ed Munro, University of Chicago
Location:

University of British Columbia

Topic:

Dynamical basis for self-stabilizing cell polarity in embryonic cells.

Description:

We combine models and experiments to study how embryonic cells form and stabilize polarity in response to transient cues. In this talk, I will summarize our understanding of how dynamic self-stabilizing cortical polarities emerge from a system of mechanochemical feedback loops that couple local biochemical signaling, cytoskeletal assembly dynamics and cell mechanics.
