An earthquake early warning network for BC - how does it work?
Description:
This talk will describe the concept of earthquake early warning and will include a description of the different methods and approaches used to detect earthquake shaking. An overview of the work being done in BC to establish and implement an EEW network for BC will be presented. This includes a description of the hardware and software that has been, and is being, developed. The future directions of the network will be presented and the opportunities for collaboration with various research groups at UBC will be discussed.
