PIMS-Lethbridge Seminar in Optimization: Sarah Ibri

 Decision makers have two important problems to solve in the management of emergency vehicles. First is the dispatching problem, the allocation of vehicles to assist emergency calls in "best response times". Second is a covering problem whose goal is keeping the region under surveillance well-covered by relocating the available vehicles. We present these problems in a general setting along with the different models and methods used in their solution. We also illustrate several related systems and practical applications.
