PIMS Globalink Student Mobility Program
PIMS, in partnership with Mitacs is pleased to offer support for senior undergraduate and graduate students to conduct 12-24 week research programs at PIMS Member Universities or eligible universities and institutions in one of the Mitacs partner countries. Awards of $6000 (CAD) are available for students travelling from one of these countries to a PIMS member university or from a PIMS member university to one of these countries. The program is offered under the umbrella of the PIMS-Mitacs and CNRS International Research Lab 3069 agreements. Applications are accepted any at time, awarded competitively, and subject to available funding.
Eligibility requirements for prospective students
- Must be a senior undergraduate or graduate student (Master's or PhD).
- Must be either:
- Enrolled for full-time studies at an accredited and eligible university or institution in any of the Mitacs partner countries, and remain so throughout their Globalink Research Award; Undergraduate applicants must have completed their second year of studies prior to starting their project in Canada.or
- A student at a PIMS member university travelling to an accredited and eligible university or institution in one of the Mitacs partner countries, and remain so throughout their Globallink Research Award; Undergraduate applicants must have completed their second year of studies prior to starting their project outside of Canada.
- Cannot undertake a research project at an institution where they have previously completed a degree and/or been employed.
- Must be above the legal age of Majority in Canada (18 years of age or older).
- Must meet travel requirements for their intended destination, including visa and/or immigration requirements and associated documentation.
- Cannot undertake a research project in a country where they hold citizenship.
- May not hold more than one Globalink Research Award per academic lifetime.
Eligibility requirements for prospective host supervising professors
- Must hold a faculty position at a Canadian university or eligible university or institution in one of the Mitacs partner countries.
- Must be eligible to supervise graduate students and Canadian Faculty must be eligible to hold Tri-Council funding.*

Eligibility requirements for prospective home supervising professors
- Must be recognized faculty members at their institutions.
- Must be eligible to supervise graduate students and Canadian Faculty must be eligible to hold Tri-Council funding.*
