Connecting Women in Mathematics Across Canada
Speakers
Details
This workshop will offer guidance in career planning and professional development to young female mathematicians. Participants will include graduate students within a year of graduation, and recent PhDs.
A number of "seasoned veterans" will give lectures on topics such as How to Give a Talk, How to Build Collaborations and How to do Research, etc. We will also ask that the student participants give research talks for which they would receive feedback from an assigned mentor. Plenary talks, and discussion sessions focusing on various aspects of the academic career are also planned.
