Topic: 

Homotopy Theory of Moduli Spaces: the Mumford Conjecture on the stable cohomology of mapping class groups as resolved by Madsen-Tillmann Weiss, cobordism categories, stability theorems and other recent developments

Description: 

 

Participants and the organizing committee will give lectures, with plenty of time for other activities (exercise sessions, reading groups, impromptu lectures).

 

There is no registration fee for this event, but we ask all who are interested in coming to complete the form below so that we may plan accordingly and create a conference mailing list. Offers of support will be made on an ongoing basis as soon as NSF funding is finalized.

 

Please note that the deadline for applications requesting financial support is May 1, 2010.

- whether you should be considered for a standard travel allotment (because you have some local funds available) or should be considered for a slightly larger allotment.
