PIMS and Istanbul Center for Mathematical Sciences (IMBM) Launch Research Collaboration

  • Date: 09/28/2022

The Istanbul Center for Mathematical Sciences (IMBM), one of Turkey’s premier institutes in the sciences, and PIMS, have embarked on a research partnership aimed at increasing the number of opportunities between mathematical scientists in Turkey and Canada. The five year agreement allows both institutes to promote the exchange of researchers (PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, as well as faculty members) and to actively host research personnel from each institute. This is one of many connections that PIMS is building with institutes across the world. IMBM, located at Boğaziçi University, is a center for research in diverse aspects of mathematics and its applications. The institute aims to create an environment which encourages interaction of researchers by providing adequate space, time and services. One of its aims is to promote interdisciplinary research based on mathematics. The new collaboration with PIMS enables the fulfillment of this mandate.
