The West Coast Algebraic Topology Summer School (WCATSS) aims to gather students, post-docs and faculty with diverse interests to study an actively developing topic at the interface between algebraic topology and other areas. This year the topic is homotopy theory of moduli spaces. Particular focus will be on approaches to Mumford's conjecture (Madsen-Weiss' theorem), the h-principle, homological stability theorems, and the study of cobordism categories. The program will be August 9-14, 2010.

The basic format, which has had success in other programs, is for the scientfic organizing committee to outline lectures which are to be prepared by participants. We also leave time in the schedule for activities which encourage broad, active participation such as exercise sessions, supplementary talks, question-and-answer sessions, and advanced topics. Because of the wide range of backgrounds of participants, we encourage study ahead of time.

All are welcome to attend. There is no registration fee, but the deadline for to request support has passed.

Some participants might want to stay the following week for a summer school on conformal field theories. We also recommend spending a bit of extra time to enjoy the local area.

Scientfic Committee:  Soren Galatius, Paolo Salvatore, Oscar Randall-Williams, Johannes Ebert, David Ayala and Nathalie Wahl.
Organizing Committee:  Alejandro Adem, Ralph Cohen, and Dev Sinha

We are very grateful for the support of the NSF, PIMS, Stanford University and the University of Oregon.
