The workshop will take place on the main campus of the University of Regina (see the location on Google Maps). This is situated in the south-east of the city, adjacent to the Trans-Canada Highway (Wascana Parkway exit).

Arriving by air:

Regina International Airport, while small, has regular services from a wide range of Canadian and US airports:
  • Air Canada: Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg
  • WestJet: Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto
  • Delta: Minneapolis–St. Paul
  • United: Chicago, Denver
A taxi from the airport to the university will cost in the region of $15–$20. Alternatively, all the main car rental businesses have desks at the airport.

Arriving by car:

Main highways serving Regina are Highway 1 (the Trans-Canada Highway), east to Winnipeg (573km, 6 hours) and west to Calgary (755km, 8 hours), and Highway 11 north to Saskatoon (266km, 3 hours).

Participants staying on-campus and requiring parking should e-mail Shaun Fallat by July 11 as soon as possible to request a parking permit, which will be supplied upon arrival. Let him know your arrival and departure dates. Permit holders should park in Lot 3 (see map).

Participants staying off-campus and wanting to park should use the visitor parking in Lot 8, at a cost of $7 per day on weekdays (see map). Parking in Lot 8 and in metered areas is free at weekends.

Arriving by bus:

Regina is served by Greyhound and STC buses.

Arriving by train:

This is not a recommended option, as the last passenger train left Regina over 20 years ago (thank you, Mr. Mulroney!). However, for the more intrepid of you, the nearest rail stations are located in Saskatoon and Melville, SK (Via Rail), or Williston, ND (Amtrak).

Travel within Regina:

Local transportation within the city is provided by Regina Transit, who operate a network of routes around the city, including to the University (but, sadly, not the airport). The cash fare is $2.50.

Visa information:

For information regarding passport and visa requirements for entering Canada, please visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Please note that, because of the short time remaining before the conference, we are unable to issue any more invitation letters for the purpose of obtaining visas.
