This years Math Camp for Teachers is July 3 - 6, 2012, at the SFU Burnaby Campus. The camp is sponsored by grants from the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS).The Camp is designed for teachers who teach mathematics in middle and high school.  This year's theme is Developing Mathematical Reasoning.  The activities, led by John Mason (Open University, UK), will explore types of mathematical reasoning, how they are used in various domains of mathematics: arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and how we use mathematical thinking in solving word problems.   Workshops and discussions will provide the opportunity to reflect, to prepare tasks for students, and to observe students from our camp for students working on these tasks. The camp registration fee is $100.  Includes two books, and lunches and refreshments. For participants from outside the Lower Mainland, there is a possibility of accommodation on campus ( http://www.sfu.ca/conference-accommodation/accommodations/index.html)
