Call for Proposals (Industrial)
PIMS invites proposals to advance collaboration and the use of mathematics and statistics in industrial settings for innovation and technology development in Canada. This includes proposals for joint academic/industrial conferences and workshops, industrial short courses, job fairs and networking events, related HQP development and training, and other strategic academic-industry collaborations in the mathematical sciences. Regionally-focused Industrial Problem Solving Workshops can be hosted at any of the PIMS sites, and PIMS researchers are encouraged to contact the Innovation Coordinator (contact info below) to secure funding and participation for such events.
A special Industrial Travel Fund is available to support travel to industrial conferences, with the goal of developing academic-industry research collaborations. This is an open call without deadline; applications procedures are here.
Industrial internships for students and postdoctoral fellowships are available through NSERC and Mitacs programs. Working in partnership with these funding agencies, PIMS staff are available to help in the development of academic/industry collaborations leading to internships and other funding.
Contact the PIMS Innovation Coordinator Michael P. Lamoureux, Ph: 604-822-0406, firstname.lastname@example.org, for more information.
