Description:
I will discuss the Bank of Canada's approach to monetary policy and the tools of policy (such as open market buyback operations and Bank of Canada lending). I will also look in detail at monetary policy at times of crisis, the use of non-traditional monetary policy tools (conditional statements, quantitative easing, and credit easing), and their potential effects of the economy.
